Marten Transport names Drivers of the Month

Barr-Nunn honored for diversity
Barr-Nunn Transportation was recently recognized as the 2008 Diversity Carrier of the Year by Walmart. Barr-Nunn was honored for going above and beyond to service Walmart’s customers and exceeding expectations. Barr-Nunn’s “overall dedication to customer service, operational excellence and the ability to offer creative solutions to our complex supply chain opportunities has set them apart in the industry,” said Kelly Abney, vice president of Walmart Transportation in a commendation letter.

Link America named ‘Golden Carrier’ by Lowes
Link America Express Southeast Division was awarded the “2008 Golden Carrier Award” at the Lowes Carrier Conference in honor of its exemplary 99.7 percent on-time service. “One of our core values is to deliver exceptional customer service,” said Dennis Hyland, vice president of sales. “This award demonstrates the commitment we have for our beliefs.”

Arkansas salutes CalArk driver
Toni Chandler of CalArk was named Arkansas Trucking Association’s 2008 Driver of the Year. Chandler and her husband, Leslie Paugh, live in Benton, AR. She joined CalArk in 1995 and has logged over 1.8 million safe miles with CalArk with no accidents, no moving violations and 100-percent on-time delivery.
Melton is a ‘Certified Healthy Business’
Melton Truck Lines recently received the 2008 Certificate of Merit from the Oklahoma Certified Healthy Business Program. The certificate, presented by the Oklahoma State Department of Health, recognizes companies making positive health and wellness activities available for its employees and contributing to the improving the health of all Oklahomans.
Landstar names new Roadstars
Landstar System recognized 18 business capacity owners (BCOs) as Landstar Roadstars. This lifetime achievement award is the highest level of recognition a BCO can receive at Land-star. The Class of 2008: Larry Bryson, Malcolm Corse, Bob Degler, Don Fore, Ben Heddendorp, Ray King, Don Ledford, Larry Leslie, Mike Mason, Gary Myers, Bernard Osburn, James Parker, Brian Simpson, Oscar Velasquez, Terry Walter, Charles Warren, Joe Westleigh and Wesley Younes.
AFS extends deal with TCA
Affiliated Computer Services announced a 10-year extension to its exclusive agreement with TravelCenters of America for the placement of TripPak truck stop scanning services and TripPak Express drop boxes at all TA and Petro Stopping Center branded locations. |
